What do you think of ppl that buy fake Gucci or other designer products, such as purses, clothes, etc.?
Would you buy fake versions of the real ones?
Or if you can’t afford it you’ll simply buy other similar brands?
Why or why not?

if i cant afford the original, i’d get an inspired. take the famous chanel quilted bag for example, they have the inspired version of it everywhere! you’d see it in forever 21, dorothy perkins, or even thrift stores! all without the double ‘c’. so it’s good.

oh another example, the cc skye chain bracelet! that, you can even make it yourself!

Is the world hungry for cheap designer clothes?

Yes = a lot of ‘designer’ (i.e. over priced rip offs) gear is manufactured in China .. some factories** run an extra (night shift) … during the day they make the ‘official’ designer gear, during the night the ‘unofficial’ gear .. which they sell at the same price direct to the ‘parallel import’ channel …

The ‘designer’ companies would have you believe that the night shift produces ‘fakes’ .. the problem is (of course) that this brings into question, exactly what is the day shift producing then ?

** The less scrupulous factories will package up and sell all the day shift ‘rejects’ instead of (or as well as) running a night shift.

I use to think designer clothes were clothes from brands with a name like Ralph Lauren, Tommy hilfiger, Donna Karan or Armani. You know with the persons name, but since i been visiting Y!A people also call stores like Abercrombie, Hollister, AE designer clothes.

You were right with your initial definition. Designer clothing comes from a fashion designer; these people have runway shows, but they also sell readymade items (i.e. Armani Exchange, Tommy Hilfiger’s stores, etc.).

Stores like Abercrombie are mass-market but don’t have a single designer’s vision. They are merely popular stores.

I think that those who pay over the odds for designer clothes and accessories have more money than sense. What do you think?

are designer clothes and accesories really worth the money? and purses? i mean do people look up to you if you have better clothes in a way? im not being fake or anything, or superficial, but do people really find other people more attractive if they have a better sense of style?

If you think about it, designer clothes have better quality then low priced clothes. Don’t forget that you only have one life so you should treat yourself well, and as long as you work for the money then it’s totall worth it.

When you wear designer clothes you have this sort of confidence, and that’s in some case true. People will pay more attention to you. It may sound harsh but it is the truth, some people care more about the wrapping on the package, EX: work interview.

It completely depends on whether or not you are successful, to be honest i would say its better to enjoy the job you do anyway rather than worrying about buying designer clothes.. a labels a label after all

I hate non-designer clothes I would probably break out in a full body rash if it didn’t have a designer tag. Besides only poor people wear non designer clothes. And i’m not a spoiled brat. You waste your time on designer clothes, but you need a life. There are some people who have fun, happy and fulfilling lives and they don’t give a crap about designer clothes, but you can’t put a price on that.

People like you need to be slapped.

How old were you when you got your first designer apparel, shoes, or handbags? I remember the first designer clothing I got was when I was 5 or 6 years old.
